I thought I could ride.
Then I started reining.

September? Really?

I have not had anything to say about reining or Pebbles for the past oh, say, 9 whole months because we are expecting a baby any day now! We found out that we were expecting just a few days after my last post in September. We are beyond excited and looking forward to meeting our newest addition to the family in just a few days.

Pebbles has enjoyed a very lonnnnnng break. I don't think she has ever been turned out this long before. Her leg looks great. Her hair - well that is another story. Nothing a little elbow grease and riding won't take care of.

During her time off, she has discovered the fine art of "cribbing". She is a horse that loves to work so standing around is rather boring on any given day but give her nine months and she comes up with new ways to entertain herself. Evidently, she has also taken to "heeling" the roping steers in the alley that goes right by her pen. Heels them just like a good cow horse, I mean dog, should.

At any rate, once I get the go ahead from my doctor, we will start riding again and I can't even begin to express how excited I am to get back in that saddle again!
